Mission and Objective
The overall goal of a trade association such as FAST is to set laws and common regulations and offer comprehensive shared knowledge and information to members of the association. Members of the association may be industry manufacturers and companies throughout the supply chain.
One of the primary objectives of trade associations is to influence public policy toward outcomes favorable to the group’s membership. By providing a unified, collective voice, particularly in emerging industries with newer technologies, there is a greater opportunity for political influence and successful legislative outcomes.
Trade associations also provide valuable benefits to their membership such as networking and professional development opportunities, conferences with legislative and thought leaders, and various seminars.
The mission and objective can be as narrowly tailored or as broadly defined as the membership and its board of directors feels is most appropriate and beneficial to the industry.
FAST intends for its initial focus to be on raising awareness of the industry as a whole and advocating for common regulatory relief for the benefit of all members.
